Obese people are MORE likely than thin people to get certain diseases, you agree?
The treatment of these diseases among the obese is also MORE probably less likely to succeed. Examples of these diseases include appendicitis, cirrhosis and diabetes.
These also include diseases of the heart and blood vessels, especially coronary heart disease. It is safe to say that a fat person with these diseases would have a better chance of recovery if he or she loses weight.
Obesity cuts down freedom of movement, especially in the elderly, and and thus can lower general health because of lack of exercise. This decreased freedom in movement, especially in patients with arthritis also makes treatment difficult.
